Muck-Shift Working Weekend

On the 18th and 19th June we attended a ‘Muck-shift working weekend’ at a site near Lutterworth, organised by Paul Badger for the Caterpillar owners LINK Club. We had to re-profile a 4×4 course.  The site was awkward in that the haul routes were short and the turns were tight, as we found out with our tracks trying to come off!

Another big one is this Cat D9g belonging to Terry Barnsley, at the time it was Caterpillar’s biggest production machine.

Tracked Volvo A25C

Some unusual shots of a Volvo A25C that we are currently negotiating a sale for on behalf of a customer.

The dumper has been converted with tracks to negotiate some difficult terrain.

STOP PRESS! The deal is now done and the truck is heading for the forests of Sweden.

Construction Machinery Air-Con Units

We have been searching for a very long time for a suitable air-con unit for retro fitting. We have seen all sorts and they have either been too expensive, bulky or unsuitable in other ways. At long last we have found one – a Red Dot unit as can be seen from the photos. We think you will agree it is compact, lightweight and presentable.

‘Working Day’ at Farnsfield with Our Latest Edition!

We went to a ‘working day’ at Farnsfield in aid of the Air Ambulance charity on the 29th and 30th December and took our latest edition to the collection – the newly imported International TD14a and Ransomes Hexatrac plough.

Winter at Walker Plant

Winter sets in at Whinleys Farm – just like everywhere else, but work carried on regardless.

Like much of the UK, Walker Plant experienced record snow fall during December 2010. 

The workshops remained open throughout the cold snap.

The above picture demonstrates well how deep the snow was.  Fortunately the snow didn’t spoil the ‘working day’ at Farnsfield – pictures to come later this week!

Exporting, Exporting… and More Exporting

We thought we would share our latest equipment to be exported to Sweden.

The Volvo 641 is a very old, but in wonderful condition, 4 wheel drive loading shovel based on a Swedish agricultural tractor and has gone back to a good home in Sweden after spending about 35yrs in this country!

We also sold another A25c to the same customer.

The hook loader has already been dispatched to Sweden to a dealer who has good demand for these machines. The hook loader’s first stop in Sweden will be the paint shop!
