It’s the most wonderful…

December 18, 2015

…time of the year – or so the song goes. Of course, opinion is divided. Nevertheless, Christmas is very nearly upon us and we must bow to its influence.

As such, Walker Plant Services will be officially closing on Christmas Eve, Thursday 24th December 2015, and will resume business as usual on Monday 4th January 2016.

However, there will be a skeleton crew present on the 29th, 30th, and 31st December to deal with your enquiries and parts orders.

Our last standard courier collection will take place on Wednesday 23rd December. Any orders after that date will be dealt with on an ad-hoc basis, and delivery may be delayed according to courier availability.  You are, of course, welcome to collect your goods (by prior arrangement).

It remains for us to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Celebrations at Walker Plant!

May 28, 2013

We have just celebrated the 70th birthday of our one-time Managing Director, John Walker. He tells us it’s been a struggle to remain sensible and teetotal for so many years! Now he is happy to relax and enjoy the rest of his years.

Thanks go to all the staff who went to so much trouble to remind him just how old/young he is and he thanks them for all the kind comments and gifts they gave him. There have been so many wishes for the future and John thanks all those who contributed to a fantastic and memorable day on 19th May. The celebrations were delayed for a week due to John and his wife, Gill, holidaying in Portugal where they celebrated on the 12th, so in fact, not unlike the Queen, he had an official birthday and a regular one!

TD14A cake

John has asked that we show a picture of the fantastic replica birthday cake of one of his favourite tractors – an International Harvester TD14a. This cake was unbelievably true to life, so-much-so, it is worthy of being featured in this blog. The cake was designed and made by a relative in Northamptonshire (see Little Wish Cakes and Cards on Facebook) she excelled herself as she does with all that she undertakes. A big thank you to Louise!

What all operators dread – a track has come off (eaten)!

In Memory of Jane.

January 16, 2013

It is with profound sadness that we report the death of Jane Langley after her short battle with cancer. As most of you will know she worked in our parts department and will be affectionately remembered as a kind, diligent and humorous member of staff. Jane will be deeply missed by all the people who had contact with her.

We have fond memories of her and our heart goes out to Denise, her family, her friends and all who were close to her.
