Unfortunately we have no photos of the BTD20 restoration this week because the BTD20 has been taken away to be blast cleaned and repainted in ‘Harvest Red’

We will however have photos next week of the freshly painted BTD20!

International BTD20 Crawler Restoration – Week 8

Week 8 of the restoration and the BTD20 is starting to take shape. We think you’ll agree that we have done a very nice job with the gears and shafts!

BTD20 Gears and shafts

The gears and shafts are resting in their destination, but are still waiting the shimming-up process for pinion back-lash.

BTD20 Drive Sprocket Covers

Both drive sprocket covers have now been repaired after a struggle to remove them.

The restoration is coming together quickly now, and just in time for lovely spring weather! More to come next week!

International BTD20 Crawler Restoration – Week 3

Week 3 of the restoration has been quite productive. As we get further along with the restoration we are finding out more and more what great shape the BTD20 is in for her age!

BTD20 Steering brake in poor condition

Right side steering brake, found to be in poor shape and bands will have to be relined

BTD20 Output Shaft

Resealed out-put shaft in left steering clutch fixed and returned to nice clean housing

BTD20 Fly-wheel

Fly-wheel cover removed ready for removal of main engine clutch to facilitate gearbox disassembly

Temporary exhaust manifold

Temporary exhaust manifold fitted to avoid new paint spoiling  stainless steel silencer/manifold

BTD20 Disassembled Parts

Disassembled parts waiting to be palletised, in readiness for paint shop
