mainheaderHello Plant Fans,

If you were wondering, yes, we’re still here. Walker Plant Services Ltd. is still up and running, serving the UK, Europe, and beyond, with new and used parts for Volvo Construction Equipment.

It’s been a while since this page has had any input, for which we apologise.  Staff changes, and day to day business, have led to concentration being placed elsewhere.  Amongst other activities, our main website has been updated, and can be viewed at

We are also now on Facebook.  If you’re on there yourself, feel free to drop by, take a look, and give us a “Like”.  You can find us at

In the meantime, we will accommodate the non-Facebookers amongst you by posting updates via WordPress as well.

January 7, 2011

We went to a ‘working day’ at Farnsfield in aid of the Air Ambulance charity on the 29th and 30th December and took our latest edition to the collection – the newly imported International TD14a and Ransomes Hexatrac plough.

Workshop in Action: Refurbishing Hook Loader

We are currently refurbishing and modifying a Volvo A25 hook loader for exporting to a client in Sweden.

We thought we would share a couple of pictures of the hook loader with you.

Featured Machine: I-H Farmall F20 yr 1936

July 21, 2010

We have the usual array of Articulated Dumpers and Excavators available, but we thought we’d feature a more unusual machine after wetting everyone’s appetite with our International BTD20 Project.

1936 I-H Farmall

This 1936 I-H Farmall F20 may be 74 years old, but is in very nice condition, ideal condition to either re-paint or even keep it in time weathered condition (Rust!) Interestingly the correct colour for a 1936 tractor is grey not red! Some tractors were later painted red.

International BTD20 Crawler in Action

June 29, 2010

We had the tractor at work on Saturday, to check out that all the mechanical bits worked properly… and they do!

Tractor seen here pulling a 1950 Ransomes single tyne Mole Plough, 24 inches deep in heavy clay in North Nottinghamshire. We are very pleased with the restoration and now hope the tractor will remain in good condition for the rest of its retirement.

International BTD20 Crawler Restoration – Week 17

June 16, 2010

The project is all but finished. These images are “out in the sun” for the first time after the restoration.

However, next week there will be more images of the tractor washed and polished.  At the moment the paint is not quite hard enough.

We are very pleased with the outcome and would like to thank everyone involved. They are:  Eamon Pell for assistance with the transmission work, Steve Deere for welding and general fiddly bits,  Andy Baines general involvement in re-assembly, Les Clark for electrical and some of the paint-work and JB Blasting and Painting of Long Bennington for their high quality work.

International BTD20 Crawler Restoration – Week 15

June 9, 2010

We have progressed a bit this week, but had a set-back with the diesel tank.

We had to send it back to the paint shop to be repainted.

Tank is now back, but just a bit a busy to fit this week. Come back next week to see the perfectly painted diesel tank fitted!

Away to Switzerland in a ‘curtain-sider’ – yet again!

June 1, 2010

There will be some pictures of the BTD20 later this week… For now we have an image of the Cat D6N XL being loaded onto a ‘curtain-sider’ bound for Switzerland – yet again!  Please note, it only just fits in!

This and the A25c are all to the same valued customer.
